Publishing

There are tons of preparations before you can publish your app into the App Store. Some of them are application icons in several sizes and screenshots. Please read the explaination below for details.

Application Icons

This is an App Icon Template that, through Smart Objects in Photoshop, automates the process of rendering the expanding amount of sizes that needs to be bundled with iOS Apps.

When something is scaled in Photoshop, chances are you will get aliasing artifacts, jagged edges, and an overall reduction in quality. This is particularly noticeable when what you are scaling has high contrast areas (shadows and highlights close to each other). To somewhat combat this, DAKSA Design Team has created a new way of scaling content for the final export action. Instead of saving out each of the sliced sizes you see in the template, it will resample the largest icon with a bicupic algorithm. What this means is that the multiple sizes you’re seeing auto generated in the template is just a preview and not the actual product. The final exported versions will look better.

Screenshot Properties

If your app is the same across device sizes and localizations, you can use the highest resolution screenshot for each device type; this set will scale appropriately for other device sizes when viewed on the App Store in each localization available in iTunes Connect. For example, if your app supports only the iPhone, you can provide 5.5-inch display screenshots and you do not need separate screenshots for the 4.7-inch, 4.0-inch and 3.5-inch displays. If your app supports iPad, a 12.9-Inch Display screenshot is required.

3.5 Inch Retina Display Screenshots

One screenshot is required. Up to four additional screenshots can be uploaded. You can rearrange the screenshots when you create or edit the iTunes Connect record.
